My wife and I take day trips into Ciudad Juarez from time to time. Other than seeing a few soldiers (armed), we haven't had any problems. I do carry a disposable pocketknife and haven't been searched yet. I also have had some training in self-defense and how to protect a principle (bodyguard lingo for your charge).
We usually have a good time.
