I don't play, but I experience a good amount of them over Mr. Clod's shoulder at his desk. City of Heroes/Villains has the most fun character creation to me, because there are just a stupid number of options and creativity in costuming is acceptable for the world.
Some of his friends are trying to talk him into Age of Conan. I've successfully talked him out of it... so far.
