Without wanting to react too strongly because of the ICK factor, I honestly don't think it's fungal. The undersides of my breasts sweat, and no bra in the world would be strong enough to hoist them completely off my body - there will always be some part overlapping. So the sweaty skin stays sweaty, and in addition is rubbed by my bra. Sweaty skin being rubbed is going to create rawness.
