You're quite right. I originally wrote, "Men can change their minds about a woman just because of their clothes" but that was perhaps unfairly weighted. Amended it after reading Classicman's response.
But I thought you made a good point because Ib's paramour doesn't like to go out and has recently been mugged. Suggests she'd at least be amenable to a night in watching a movie rather than being on display.
