While I agree that I shouldn't have to tiptoe around other people's stupid ideas;
which are stupid to me becasue I don't agree with them, but probably not stupid to other people that agree with them 
; I think this is an issue of respect.
It shows respect to to ask if they have a problem with it even if
you don't agree with their answer. It also shows respect to save that activity for another time if all parents aren't 100% on board.
