I have the same one that fargon had. I took a broken one apart to see what made it tick and it sounds just like yours, only larger. It does a fair job of cooling sodas and other drinks but milk doesn't stay fresh for more than 48 hours. Cheese and cold cuts fare better but need to be eaten within a week.

It should do a decent job of cooling a can but it will take a while, especially if the can is warm, precooling works best.
