Greetings from the 6th floor of 5 Penn Center...
Other than the fact that I feel miserable b/c of a nasty cold, it's been a pretty good day. Everything showed up here and is pretty much where it should be. Almost everything is unpacked, and it didn't take too terribly long--about 3 or so hours.
My desk is pretty phat. It's bigger than my old one, though I think I lost some storage space. We have these little closets that have room for our coats and personal belongings. Then we have the nice keyboard and mouse stands that come from under the desk. New Cisco IP phones. And a fine HermanMiller Aeron chair.
The view outside isn't spectacular, since we're only on the 6th floor, but it's cool: From my desk, I have views of LOVE Park and the fountain, part of Penn Center, the old PNB building, the Ritz-Carlton, the clothespin statue, and Centre Square.
The atmosphere is much different up here. More hustle and bustle, but it's still got that relaxed feel.
They're still finishing up our floor, but it looks pretty good. Although it has more of a cubicle farm feel b/c we have more open space and most of the cubicles are the same height. I'm basically by myself over here, though my boss is right behind me. No biggie...he's cool.
Good times!
