I'd pretty much stay the hell out of his way. He's very threatened by folk who don't fall under his lead.
Don't think for a minute that you will ever win a public battle with this self-proclaimed dickhead, either. He's a soldier without a battlefield just looking for an excuse...
I'd also caution you about being upfront with the other folk under his lead - they will probably rat you out. Now if they come to you, that's fine but I'd still watch your words as they might be "scouts."
Sorry but this has nuthin' but trouble for you written all over it - apply for a transfer and suck it up till you get it.
There's a chance you could beat this guy in the long run but you'd end up paying an awful lot for not a whole lot.
