I think hippo mamas are *very* protective of ther babies (as the IotD shows), like mama bears with their cubs. I've heard that hippos are quite dangerous, like Rhinos, and don't like being messed around with by peeps. I read that their lips are 2 feet wide

, and they lurk underwater with just their eyes above the waterline, like crocks, so when the peeps go by in their flimsy canoes.......CHOMP!!!
