I feel it's bad because Redhat had brand-name recognition. If you said Redhat, people knew you were talking about Linux. Or GNU-Linux more properly.

I read about the Fedora Linux after I read the info on Redhat's website. It seemed that Fedora is an independent project that isn't after profit (like Mozilla Dev or Openoffice.org projects). This could be a good thing but as Uryoces said: it now lacks the brandname. I think I over-reacted when I saw that Redhat was dropping out and being replaced by a community project.
At least their not dead in the server division. Its nice to see a good server OS without the hefty price tag of Widows Server 2003.
