Eh, I actually have to agree with him on that. You really don't want to move somewhere just based on what you've heard. You have to experience the sights, sounds, smells, etc.
(Oh sure, you
can do it...it'll add excitement to the experience. But you don't want to take other people's words for it...you'll wind up hating them later if things don't pan out.)
