Joannie Rochette was the figure skater that lost her mother the day (or 2) before she was to skate. She still competed, she won bronze. She also shared the Terry Fox medal of Courage with the..... oh crap.... Norweigan? skiier that fell and broke her ribs and still got bronze.
I guess I just looked at is as these people gave it their all, it might not have been gold, but each of them deserved their recognition.

Every sport has falls/mistakes, the pressure of the world watching you must be huge, I am honestly suprised more people did not make mistakes. In some cases it makes the athletes work harder for next time.
I am not a sports fan, but I watched most of the events over the last 17 days, Every country gave it their all, it was amazing to see.

With all the people who expected Canada to fail as competitors and as hosts, the negative was far surpassed by the positive.
