but why should the tooth fairy's generosity have any bearing on how kids treat their parents as they age?

Besides, our tooth fairy is usually tired, stressed and/or drunk, so I think they're pretty impressed if she remembers at all

....although she managed to find her way to zippyt's house that one time and she pays for swallowed teeth.
