A few years ago, some loser fuckwit smashed out one of the power rear windows on my Windstar van in order to steal my shit. Got about 12 CDs (including a $65.00 bootleg of Genesis doing "The Lamb" live, back before the Anthology version was available), my cheapass portable CD player and it's support gear (cig lighter power, cassette input adapter) and my butt pack with my d/l, etc (no credit cards).
Total value of loss? Maybe $250.00 replacement cost.
Total cost to replace window? $650.00...plus the $300 alarm I had installed after that.
Fuckwits.
On a brighter note, though, the punk who was suspected of burglarizing my kid's apartment back in May was just busted for a string (at least five, and maybe more, all in different municipalities) of armed c-store robberies here in town. Charges so far are armed criminal action, attempted armed criminal action, aggravated robbery...and more to come.

This useless excuse for a human being committed the first act which started a string of bullshit for me and my family which is only now beginning to ease slightly. I hope they put him away for 50 years.
