what do you think?
Just to hazard a guess ... you've been driving in Lancaster County recently and got stuck behind a buggy?

I think the Amish are quite interesting, in terms of their attempt to resist becoming worldly. Of course, because their kids are exposed to the "English" world on a daily basis growing up, fewer and fewer of them choose to remain in the community ... although that's what keeps a lot of them in the faith, the sense of family and community, because the lack of running water, electricity, and PlayStation represents some major hardship in my world view at least.

I have been amused on more than one occasion by the concessions to modernity some Amish families make ... no phone in the house, but one on the pole outside is okay. It is sad to see the Amish farms surrounded by developments these days, though.
