skysidhe, you may not be truly sleeping for 6 hours. Have you ever had a sleep study? That mid-afternoon sleepiness is a symptom of sleep deprivation. (I'm not a doctor, I just play one on the 'net, but I am much better in the afternoons than I once was due to better sleep now.) I still haven't figured out how much sleep I need at night, but I know that afternoon naps are more a (delightful) choice than a (desperate) requirement, post CPAP.
