This is the simplest of objects. It is a 1 1/8"x22" keyed stainless steel shaft. I got it at the local second hand marine shop, Second Wave. I love this place. As you can see, I paid a small price for it. You may compare the price *per foot*
at this site for reference. It weighs a little over six pounds. I reckon it was.. hell. I don't know. It was cut short when I bought it. I wonder if it was a propshaft.... maybe not. (Steering) Wheel shaft, sure could be. There's a round shallow hole opposite the keyway where a setscrew would secure the hub of whatever the hell it was.
It is a lovely piece of metal.
