Last Tuesday I found a wallet right outside the Acme entrance. I could see there was money in it by looking at the edge but I didn't open it. I just gave it to the desk in the Acme. If I opened it and found out who it belonged to, I'd have been obligated to try and find them. I didn't have the time so I let Acme handle it. Selfish? Yes.
