I've done that single-color only, to daisies and celery.
I think every American Kid does the celery thing when learning about capillary action.
What I would like to know is how they got the colors so vibrant ... I'm used to them coming up paler. I guess it's a higher concentration of the dye, but man. that's saturated.
I assume they're staring with white roses.
What I'm not getting is how they do that without killing the rose ... article says it's done while they are growing.
