It seems that to be Pope, you have to be good looking. Or at least passable.

I don't know though. As I pointedly (and I don't just mean the hat) peruse pictures of pontiffs, it seems that there have been some pontiffs that only a mother could love. The mother of jebus, anyway.

Pope Paul V looks like Satan. Pope Pius VII might not be too bad, but he looks stoned. Pope Gregarious XVI looks like Mr Hurley from Three's Company, and Pope Pius XII totally looks jewish.
