Ahh, guys ... Taliban =/= Al Qaeda.
Taliban means "religious community" or "congregation". As such, Talibans exist in every muslim country; most do very little beyond a bit of social cohesion, while others are concerned solely with local affairs, trying to provide some sort of law in the chaos of corrupt or collapsed nations like Afghanistan or Somalia.
Al Qeada is an international terrorist organisation which was responsible for the terror attacks. i.e. our legitimate enemies.
No doubt there is some overlap of membership, and no doubt that the Afghan Taliban allowed AQ to have safe haven in Afghanistan. This does not make "the taliban" automatically the enemy.
That said, if there was a chance to beat Bin Laden over the head with a piece of WTC steel, the queue to do so would stretch from NY to LA. And I'd join it.
