I didn't like being forced to read Great Expectations, but I have to admit it was a really good book.
Years later, my wife and I were visiting a friend of hers, and it was really weird. This friend was acting odd, and she left the lights off, and it was all messy, but in a precise way, in her apartment. As we walked to the car afterwards, I mentioned that this friend reminded me a lot of Mrs. Havisham. My wife agreed enthusiastically, even though we had never spoken about Great Expectations. I didn't even know she had read it.
We still refer to that friend as Mrs Havisham.
