Dana - I did ask my doc (he's been with me thru everything including knowing I am an addict/alcoholic) and he said that he recommended Atkins esp. for people like me.
I have metabolic syndrome/insulin resistance (high blood pressure, hi triglycerides, apple body shape, low HDL, etc.) and that is why he said it would be good for me.
