On a serious note, one of the best exercises for the back, supposedly, is a good walk. I walk all the fucking time. I walk every day, several times a day, probably amounting to a couple of hours in two or three chunks. Not counting the to-ing and fro-ing, I'm talking going for a walk. Always have. Even when I didn't have a dog (for a few years) I used to get my headphones on and fuck off for a long walk several times a week.
I think along with considering pilates, and various other attempts to sort out my back, I shold probably get my arse in gear and buy a new mattress. This one's fucked. It's been fucked for ages. I know it's a major factor. That and the computer chair, in which I spend far too much time to be putting up with the slight slant, and the slopy seat.
