Can You Imagine?

It's 1942, the Japanese have destroyed most of the Pacific Fleet, along with many planes and hangar facilities, and shipyards in Hawaii. The Philippines have been invaded, along with major areas along Southeast Asia. The oil fields of the Dutch and British colonies are falling one by one.

Now they're looking for volunteers to fly with BOMBERS, off a lone aircraft carrier, into the very heart of Japan!

That was the situation when the Doolittle Raiders took off to make a small bombing run over Tokyo, etc.

They didn't have enough gas to make it back. With luck, they could make it to China (most did not), and jump out, then escaping capture by the Japanese troops already in most of the coastal areas of China.

A celebration and last chance to honor some incredibly gutsy bomber crews, at a time when we were desperately in need of a morale boost, in the war with Japan.
