Don't know if I've mentioned this elsewhere, but Fox are apparently remaking Luther.

I don't really understand why they would want to do that. The whole thing with Luther is that it's a British take on an American drama staple - the maverick, troubled cop who uses unorthodox methods and butts up against authority and his own sense of guilt. If they remake it it'll be an American take on a British take on an American drama staple.

Find it really hard to see how the character of Luther would still be Luther with anyone but Idris Elba.
