I've got Google to search with on Edge; but, I had to go back and figure out how I did it. Here it is and you can do the entire procedure on this webpage while reading my post:
Click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the Edge browser screen (when you put the cursor on them you get the text "More actions").
At the bottom of the drop down menu, click on "Settings."
In the Settings menu, scroll down to the last item and click on "View advanced settings."
In the Advanced settings menu, scroll down to where it says "Search in the address bar with." In the box below, click on the down arrow on the right and in the menu click on "<Add new>." When multiple choices appear, click on "www.google.com." When options appear, click on "Add as default."
The address bar now doubles as a Google search bar. Click on whatever address is there to highlight it and hit the backspace button to delete it. Type in whatever you want to search for. A Google search bar automatically appears below the address bar with what you typed already in it. Click on that search bar; or, one of the bars below it containing suggestions.
It's a hassle to set up; but, easy to use afterwards..
