Newborns suck. Give them to me at about 18 months. Then it's all payoff at that point. At least in my experience. But newborns are way more trouble than they are worth at the time.
A newborn is cute if you can hold it while it's in a good mood and sniff the top of its head. And then give it back when the bad parts start. And go home and get a full night's sleep.
