Not online news, all media, pass on what they have been told, before they have the whole story. Even newspapers with their time delay advantage to get it right, fuck up.

A "developing story" means they'll tell you what they heard, and it may or may not be true, but they hope you'll to watch their dog & pony show while they figure it out.
