My guess is you section the squirrel in the same way you would a rabbit - albeit much smaller.
Coat the squirrel in flour and seasoning and fry in butter until browned. Possibly with the ham, although as that's already cooked it could be intended as a later addition.

Simmer in cider and Maggi sauce, then remove from the heat and add cream.

Just my take on it.
