The next weekend, I clamped the cover in place to test the fit. It doesn't fit. It rubs in at least two places. Sigh. At least it looks good.
The oil can blade guard is too close to the cover. I think this is because I made the wheels slightly larger than the plans called for so this would be a true 16 inch band saw.
So I take the cover to the drill press to hog out some material. I need to remove enough material while still leaving enough to provide strength.
The material is removed. The blade guard doesn't rub now.
