Wow. That second shot so reminds me of the Emerald Lakes of
Tongariro Crossing. Just unbelievable that water can be that color. Every time I show somebody a picture of it, I have to say, "The water really is that color!" because I think they have to see it to really believe it. (The pics on the site linked above don't look quite accurate, but pretty close.)
I can't remember what the natural chemical process is that causes the color, but maybe somebody can enlighten me.
