You may certainly begin proceedings. But what you MUST do, MUST MUST MUST,...
You are an hour late for shift. A friend calls the main desk. "Do you know where Ortho is? I was on the mobile phone with her and suddenly it went dead and I can't reach her. It sounded like an accident! She was on the highway and she screamed and then it went dead!"
Fifteen minutes later someone calls as a cop. "We think we'll have an inbound for ER but this may take a while. It's definitely gonna be a DOA. This is a mess. Semi hit a passenger car. I thought I would call because it looks like she's one of yours. She's dressed like she's headed in for work and I saw one of your badges. No I couldn't make out who it was, like I said it's a mess, and I'm now 500 feet away managing the accident site. Oops, gotta go."
An hour later (give it time to spread) you just casually stroll in.
"What?"
