This is NOT phoning it in, Bruce! This is awesome. I think this thing might be part of the same volcanic hotspot as Erta Ale (not sure of the spelling cuz it's too early in the morning), which is one of only 3 volcanoes in the world with permanent molten lava lakes. The Great Rift Valley, which is where the lava lake sits, is a hotbed of not only volcanic activity but one of the centers of research into the earliest hominids.
