Maezumi Roshi once asked a student who was working on remodeling the Zendo how the project was coming along, "It's basically finished except for a few details." The student said.
Perplexed, Maezumi looked at him and said, "But details are all there are."
Civilizations and fish rot from the head down, as the saying goes, all we have to do is look to the heads of our country to get a sense of where we are going and why we are in this handbasket.
