Yep, there they are, Salt Petre and Sulphur. When I was in my late tweens, I'd bicycle over to one local drug store to buy some Salt Petre. If they asked me what it was for, I'd say it was for my mother. Then I'd go to another drug store to buy some Sulphur. If they asked what it was for, I'd say it was for my father. We had charcoal at home which I could pulverize myself. There was also a book published in the late '40s, which my father kept locked up; but, I found the key to, on DIY Pyrotechnics. Ah yes, those were the good old days, my mad scientist years.
