Cut 5"x5" square of fabric.
Fold in half, and then in half again to make a smaller square.
With a pair of scissors nip out the corner where all the folds come together.

Do the same with a larger square of fabric, belt with a bit of string, trendy Barbie dress.
It's really better if you do learn to sew. Barbie has such massive boobs that her dresses and blouses really need darts. Barbie clothes are small enough that you can do a lot of the sewing by hand rather than by machine.
You can also experiment with cutting strategically placed holes in 'trouser' socks, for a slinky shell-type dress. Smaller (girl's) socks work better for this.
