I got re-elected! *smiles*

Bad day overall for the party nationwide and locally, lot of council seats changed hands, lot of councils changed their lead party. Locally, we lost one seat (poor guy had been a councillor for 22 years) to the Lib Dems and lost one to the BNP.

I was fighting the BNP as my main opposition (though the conservatives made a better than usual showing) but we held them off *smiles* and I increased my majority from 77 votes ahead of the BNP (dangerously close) to about 250 votes

Out of 18 contested seats in our borough, only mine and one other saw Labour increase our vote.
