Yes. But the smart thing is that he created a homemade jig that keeps the bevel of the blade at a consistent angle. It's a lot of work filing away at that blade, and it's easy to get sloppy. His jig prevents that.

The idea is not a groundbreaking new one, but it's nothing I taught him, and he cobbled together 6 different items to work together to give him what he was looking for.

It's not the cure for cancer, but it's showing some thought.
