This is Dr. Tom Amberry.
Dr. Amberry was a podiatrist. That's not what made him notable, though I'm sure he was a fine doctor. No, Dr. Tom Amberry's notoriety comes from the fact that he once (in 1993) made 2,750 consecutive free-throws,
at the age of 71. He said he could have made many more, but, the gym closed for the day and they ran him off.
That's quite a feat, 2,750 consecutive free-throws. Really, though, that's not what does it for me with ol' Dr. Tom. What gets me, is that he made 500 consecutive free-throws
on 473 separate occasions!!
Amberry would go to the gym every day and shoot at least 500 free-throws, with the exception of Sundays.
He was 94.
