I prefer a Goode homolosine projection over a mercator projection. But I admit that the Goode projection would look weird here.

Imagine that printed up huge and wrapped on the inside of a cylinder, with you standing inside.
Naked.

speaking of lampshades...I once visited Hearst Castle at San Simeon in California. An exquisite display of ostentatiousness. In one of the rooms was a table lamp with a lovely lampshade (not, repeat, NOT made of human skin, though I vaguely remember a news item not so long ago about such an item...) The lampshade at Hearst Castle though, it was made from pages of a Guetenberg Bible. I might go to hell too for saying this, but they're making plenty of human skin all the time these days. It's still in current production. But those bibles? The very definition of "limited edition". Talk about your conspicuous consumption!

That's a standard texture-mapping layout for rendered characters in videogames. For a moment I couldn't figure out what was supposed to be so strange about it...

I could dance till the cows come home. On second thought, I'd rather dance with the cows till you come home.
