Toy Trucks

Talking to a guy in San Diego who grew up in Minnesota, and was big on model cars, Hot Wheels and Slot cars. He told me he had never heard of Hess trucks, and I was surprised. I guess they were an East Coast thing, at Christmas the Hess stations sold them. They were excellent quality, complete with batteries and dirt cheap. When an Elmo or Barbie would knock you back a hundred plus a black eye fighting for it, Hess trucks could be had for ten or fifteen bucks. I gave most of mine away a few years ago but may have one lurking somewhere.

I really liked the early ones but they jumped the shark in the '80s.

The 2006 helicopter was one on my son’s favorites. He got it from his uncle. I was impressed with the quality. It was a well built, fun toy.

I guess the space shuttle driver needs to scrunch down real low.

Why is that, do you mean the truck driver if it launches?

This one is on ebay right now for $8.90... but the shipping is $9.50.

Going by the truck cab size, the shuttle pilot is going to have to slide into that cockpit like in one of those extreme bicycles.

Ah, got it. I'm a little slow sometimes.
Hey maybe it's a really really big truck.
