Idiot Guide to Macs

We're a PC family. But we have three students whose educational establishments are all Mac-based and use Mac software. Some of which has no good PC substitute/is incompatible with anything else. So we were thinking of adding a Mac to the stable. Cost would be a factor.

I would encourage you to look into desktop virtual environments.

I know you can emulate a Windows PC on a virtual machine inside a Mac, so I assume you'd be able to do the same in reverse.

But then would it come with the software, there are some movie and music making software that comes standard om macs but don't seem to have easy PC equivalent.
