Any knowlege of where that sound falls on the musical spectrum?
Nuevo Chicano mariachi/flamenco/ranchero? I'd get soundtracks and follow the leads into Mexico. Sounds like a great trip!

Boy, has this thread died off!! Time to revitalize!

My current list of fave CD's are:

Patti Smith's Horses
Eminem's The Eminem Show
Jane's Addiction's Nothing Shocking
Moussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain/Pictures at an Exhibition
Chant I: The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo De Silos
Douglas Adams reading Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency
(I might also throw some metal, zydeco, or more classical, alternative, rap, etc., in the mix, depending on my mood--admittedly putting this on 'random' can be a bit jarring)

Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics.

Yes, all the greats are there, including Lonely Jew at Christmas, Christmastime in Hell, and The Dreidel Song.

Juno Reactor - Labyrinth

My mother honestly likes it, despite her traditional abhorrence for pounding bass (although the bass here rolls more than it pounds). I think that is a strong voucher in favor of this CD.

I went a little crazy at Overstock.com and bought a slew of music and 'book tape' CD's, mostly for $1 each. Some of them are very odd. The Kacapi Suling Cinta is Javanese ethnic dance music. So far the Viva Cubop 2 CD is my favorite with everything from salsa to very cool jazz. I've only had time to listen to 4 or 5 albums all of the way through. The grooves albums are interesting in that they are samplers put out by record companies. People are always complaining about buying a whole CD for one good song and not realizing that they usually end up putting a collection of good songs from different artists on one of these samplers or a movie soundtrack which ends up in the bargain bin.

One surprise was in the folk legends. Since the Dubliners were in it I expected traditional Irish folk songs. When I saw the title of the second song by Richard Digance was "Drag Queen Blues", I assumed it was some bit of slang having to do with fishing, like the term 'dragline', since there was a "Net Hauling Song" on the CD.

It turned out to be a song about cross-dressing. It was pretty funny.

Tang? He's out in space?
Listening to MrNoodle rippin' it up.
Reminds me of Joe Satriani at the Tower, sitting in the 2nd row, right behind his Mom.
