Updated Start Page

Hi all,

I have some new info. Over on the TINP forums, we were trying to decipher the lyrics to the new sound clip on the start page. Since the forums are still down, I'll post here. After much Googling, I finally found this: Sweet Indiana Home. I found the title and credits but no lyrics, so here's what I can make out...please suggest corrections if you have any.

Sweet Indiana Home - Aileen Stanley, 1922
Music and Lyrics by Walter Donaldson

Now I know why I'm blue,
And I'm melancholy right through.
Every fortnight far away,
Seems to haunt me night and day.

Picture me, can you see,
Just how dog-gone happy I'll be?
Every night there's a candlelight
In all my dreams.
It seems I'm back in Indiana, Indiana
In my dreams I'm roaming through the shady (?) where I was born

I'm going back to Indiana, Indiana
Could anything be grander than to (drop me under?) through fields of corn
I miss that little homestead where the heart'll be fed on sunshine
I see a lady so fair in a rocking chair there alone
I'll leave tonight about eleven, I'll be in heaven
Tomorrow morn' at seven when I'm in my home, sweet Indiana home

1 o' clock, you'll find me in a lower berth
2 o' clock, I start to dream for all I'm worth
3 o' clock, we're stopping for a symphony
(Everybody's snorin' in a different key!)
4 o' clock, I'm tryin' to open up my eyes
5 o' clock, the Indiana sun will rise
6 o' clock, the engineer will give the alarm
7 o' clock, you'll find me in the [?]
I'm going back to Indiana, Indiana
Could anything be grander than to (chuck me under?) through fields of corn
I miss that little homestead where the heart'll be fed on sunshine
I see a lady so fair in a rocking chair there alone
I'll leave tonight, about eleven I'll be in heaven
Tomorrow morn' at seven when I see my home, sweet Indiana home

I'm not even sure that the lyrics are relevant to the puzzle, but not knowing what they were was bugging me.

Yeah there's something else different about htat page now. I clicked on the face of the oven and it spawned a popup instead of heading to ASIA AWAITS, so I came here to investigate since the Soapbox is down. Anyone else notice the popup?

"Would you still love someone, even if they did something really terrible?"

Great job with that song, Infectus! I tried a quick google, but no luck. I'll try to find a site with the lyric because I had trouble understanding the same parts you did.

Yeah, here's a summary of the differences that we've noticed so far.
  • The page title has changed from Something is Coming to Time's Changing, which ties in with the changing time in the lyrics of Sweet Indiana Home.
  • Clicking on the face in the oven produces the pop-up "Would you still love someone, even if they did something really terrible?", instead of linking to the Asia Awaits page. In fact, there is no longer any link from the start page to the rest of the puzzle.
  • The song Sweet Indiana Home plays intermittently with background noise that sounds rather unpleasantly like a baby crying. On the TINP forums someone discovered that a spectrogram of the sound clip is a picture of the album cover for Cherry Knowle, by the band Leatherface. Cherry Knowle is also the name of a mental health hospital in England.

(BTW, thanks Duey. It took about three hours of solid Googling to find that clip!)

If this weekend is convenient, we should meet up in a chatroom to pool our ideas.

IRC: irc://irc.hack3r.com/tinp

or

AIM chatroom: TINP

I'll be idle in IRC all day. I'll check in every once in a while.

I have a band of slightly intoxicated cavaliers looking at the Aileen tune. I'm 95% sure it'll contain an image of some sort.

--

The lack of any links from the homepage means 2 things to me;

1) TINP, in light of all these problems, is shutting things down for a short while.
2 and more realisticly/hopefully) He's dropping a subtle little clue like this; 'THE NEXT BIT IS A URL CHANGE JA'HEAR!?' Like that.

There is a 2.5 as well;

2.5) He doesn't want any newcomers to play. But thats just racist.

--

Whats going on with the main forums? Again...

Hello Cellar, by the way.

Hi folks!

I'm stumbling my way through setting myself up on a whole new compy, complete with learning a whole new OS.

(Oh, and nice work, Deius! )

[Edit: Nevermind, was trying to access a page that wasn't there.]

It doesn't go anywhere else for me; it only gives the 'love someone' popup.

I believe the line is:
"In my dreams I'm roaming through the shady gloaming where I was born"

Ok guys, the forum is sort of back, but I'm really sceptical about entering my password, the URL changes when I goto www.thisisnotporn.com/forums/ it loads www.ketadreams.com/forums/ which doesn't seem to load directly, a personal blog by the look of it. If someone else is just helping with hosting issues that is cool, but, any word?

I had to look it up, but I believe you are right. Nice work.
I figured out a few more parts as well.

Where I thought it sounded like "drop me under" it's actually "just meander."
Where I thought it was "we're stopping for a symphony" it's actually "we start to form a symphony."
I'm still stuck on the end of the "7 o'clock" line.

I'll edit my post above, and on the TINP forums as well.

[EDIT]
hmmm... I can't edit the post above with the whole song.
BASSsic, I found it too. There is a welcome back post by TINP and a note from priestx as well about the forum changing. If it's fake, I've been duped. :S

I think it's
"7 o' clock, you'll find me in my lover [Lenny's*] arms"

*It's a name, though whether she says 'Lenny' or 'Lemmy', or something else entirely (Henry?), I can't tell. [Edit: I'm pretty sure it's 'Lemmy'.]

Hello everybody!

This is your right hand admin, Chris Wallace a.k.a priestx. I am now hosting the forums on my webserver, and will be maintaining all the necessary things, database clean up, upgrades, etc. It's been on our minds for a while, and after the spyware incident it was unanimous to transfer it all over. I'm going to send out an e-mail about the entire ordeal just to help clarify somethings up.

Thanks,
priestx [not PriestX ;]

I think I've got it, SP.

"7 o'clock you'll find me in my loving mammy's arms."

That pretty much finishes it, I think. Here's the full song, completed.
