You look flushed, but not real beat up. That's a pretty area. I can't read the two signs, though. Good job on the pictures.

It was the hardest thing I've ever done. I thought of quitting constantly on the way up. Honestly, if my friend wasn't there, I would've quit. We both started sweating as soon as we got out of the car. It probably took 2 hours to get to the top. When I first got to the top, my face was BRIGHT red. The trail was a pretty steep incline. Humidity + Asthma = feeling like death

Great, thank you. So if you get hurt their lawyer can point them out, and wagging his finger say, we told you so. At that point your Mom slaps you upside the head saying, you never listen

Didn't you get that sinking-stomach-all-over-your-body feeling at any point while you were out on that precarious ledge? I'm feeling it right now just thinking about it.

A little, but not bad. We started in the center of the rock and took our time moving out to the edge. We think that helped. Plus, it didn't look that precarious when we were on the top - lol

Nice to put a face on you, Bbro!! Ya couldn't have bent over a leeeeetle bit farther? Maybe drop a strap or two?

Nice pics, too.

I went back to Hanging Rock State Park last weekend. I was going to do this: https://www.hikingupward.com/NCSP/HangingRock/ but I only made it to 4 points. Going up the Hanging Rock Trail seemed a lot easier than last time. It took me 40ish minutes to do it. All of the hike I did took a ridiculous amount of time. I think I started around 9:15-9:20. I got back to my car around 4:30

Here's some shots

Wolf Rock adjacent. I ran into an obnoxious family with yelling and screaming and they took over the actual Wolf Rock. I continued on and hoped they wouldn't follow

These were all taken at Cook's Wall. It was my favorite spot on the trip. There was another place beyond here that I could've gotten up on, but my knee wasn't too happy with me. I didn't trust that I would be able to make it up with all the dry leaves. Next time.

Very nice! I especially like the shot of the buzzard's butt.

That looks like a nice day hike, very pretty.

Thanks! Pretty sure they were hawks, though. It wasn't bad enough for the buzzards to start circling

Thanks! It's a bit far of a drive. I think next time, I'll get an Airbnb close by like I did last time. Then, I can do the whole park.

So, I am taking on the Passport "challenge" this year. NC has a State Park passport. Whenever you visit a park, you get a stamp. After 10 stamps, you get some stuff, after 20, stuff, etc. Complete 40 state parks and a piece of the Mountains to Sea Trail in 365, you get a secret prize. Since I'm focusing on paying off credit cards and saving for Alaska, this is the perfect thing for me to do so that I don't get all antsy and make a last minute trip. I'm going to be camping at some of the parks, too (you may remember from the Camping post). Regardless, because of that, I'm going to have A LOT more pics. I have 5 stamps so far (I started on Jan 18th). Here's some pictures from 4 of the parks.

There's quite a few. And I tried to limit it as much as I could. I just liked so many.

These are from Elk Knob State Park. The weather sucked. The hike was hard. The summit had NO view. I thought I was going to die
