Dear Undertoad:

Please change the name of the political forum from "Politics" to "Richard Nixon's Festering Corpse".

Thanks in advance.

TGRR,
Would like to point out that he DID say "please".

"Richard Nixon's Festering Corpse" is a suitable place to dump most political opinions, i will vote for this change.

I don't hate America! I love America!

Now some of the people in it... that's a whole 'nuther kettle of fish.

I went on a field trip with my daughter today. We went to the home of George Mason. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were frequent long-term guests there. It was really cool walking the same floors and walking into the same rooms as Washington and Jefferson.

What do you think they would think of some of the drivel that masquerades as political debate these days? Not much, I bet.

You'd be amazed, in Jefferson's case. He was a political animal of the first water.

Washington, on the other hand, was just an animal...and the best pit fighter of his day, with the possible exception of Ben "Crusher" Franklin...and he'd kill a punk for talking politics while he was dropping the mac hammer on some honey showing a little ankle.

They would probably recognize it. Human nature was the same then as it is now.

Not really. It was deeply rooted in the philosophy of the Enlightenment.

But on second thought, Enlightenment does rhyme with Entitlement.

politics in the days of George, Ben and Thomas :: cutting down your own trees and building a stout log cabin.

politics today :: standing in line at the dmv

Actually, the United States was mired in paperwork and corruption before the ink was dry on the constitution.

Just saying.

If you don't like it, just wait! In six months the forum will be different.

I like it. However, I feel we should rename the political board in honor of the man who made today possible.
