Mum was making suggestions of ways to make my place better, specifically the kitchen (which is ludicrously tiny). She suggested this thing to go over the top of the cooker, which would make it into an extra work surface:

"So you'll have all that extra space for when you're baking..." she says.

I responded "Sorry, have we met?"

I've used that line on my own mom. I forget what it was about, but she'd said something so out of keeping with who I actually am...I said "Hi, I'm Shaw, have we met?"

I'd forgotten I had to go to my sis-in-law's party, where you buy stupid stuff, like monogrammed bags...so no brownies last night.

Probably not tonight either. I have to go in and try to finish up what I spent 8 hours working on yesterday. Speaking of mildly irritated...
