God complex

I don't know how many of you watched the season 3 premier of House M.D. but since I have to wait until sunday to get my recording of it (had a bio lab that day, a friend from out of town recorded it for me) I have been obcessively scouring the net for House related goodies to tide me over. This image from the first season box set stuck out at me

anyone else think that light is a bit 'halo-ish'? I don't think it's an accident

His accent is perfect, baby! and so are his blue eyes!

(actually, and I've said this before, he looks like my ex-husband)

His accent? He does a really good job for a British actor playing an American character. On the special features included in season 1 the director commented that he keeps his American accent all day, not just during shoots.

For some more great examples of Brits as Americans, see HBO's "The Wire". The actors portraying Jimmy McNulty and Stringer Bell are British. There is no trace of their accents in the show.

The guy who plays Captain Adama (the younger one) on the new Battlestar Galactica series has a perfect American accent as well.

House's accent is good, but his lisp drives me nuts.

I complain about his accent, but I am actually a huge fan of Hugh Laurie. Don't know if you guys ever got 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie' over there, but they were pretty big over here in the late 80s early 90s.

Hugh of course was also always wonderful in the Black Adder shows, particularly in Black Adder Goes Forth.

I read somewhere that when a Brit does an American accent they sound like they come from Iowa.

And when an American does a British accent they sound like they come from Iowa.....

I love House.

Hmmm. I wonder what that says about Iowa?
