Attractive Beaches in Kerala

The beaches in Kerala are some of the most famous Kerala travel destinations in the world. Tourists from all over the world visit Kerala beaches throughout the year.

Among the many beaches in Kerala, the Kappad beach is one of the most famous one as it is the land where Vasco Da Gama landed centuries ago on the May of 1498 with 170 men in three vessels. The beach is stunningly beautiful with a host of rocks protruding into the sea. Kappad also has a network of lakes, lagoons, canals and fresh water rivers that meander through the land. One can travel through the backwaters and experience the beauty of the enchanting waterways, lush green paddy fields and the coconut grooves. Houseboats rides are made available for the tourists which gives them a chance to experience the simple lives of the fishermen who make a livelihood using their cockleshell boat. One can also catch a glimpse of the women catching fishes with their feet, cattle grazing about and the shallow ponds decked with blooming white lotuses. The Pookot Lake which is engulfed by trees on all sides adds to the beauty of the area.

Another famous tourist place is the Payyambalam beach which is located at Kannur and is only 2 kms away from the town. There is also a beach garden which offers a picturesque view of the sea itself and is a famous picnic spot. A magnificent sculpture of a mother and child in the beach is famous and was erected by a noted sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman.

I was about to delete this spam, but then decided against it. I've never heard of this place, and had no idea what continent it was even on until I clicked through on the link. In fact, it sounded like a made up place from a fantasy game. It's fairly well written and not deceptive the way most spam is, where they talk about one thing and link to coach bags for sale.

So anyway, read or ignore.

The mall in Casstown is a sight to behold. Every year, dozens of visitors flock to town to revel in the lavish shelves of beans and paper plates, cigarettes and lighters, beer and rolling papers. Out in front, you might witness a robin landing in an elm tree, or even a dog behind a fence!

You can climb into the back of Bob's truck and find yourself amongst luscious cornfields and barns, yet be just a hop and a skip away from the motley civilization that arose from years and years of WASPs marrying WASPS.

People live in Casstown. There's probably some water nearby, where one can wet one's whistle and see the shiny rocks that the people of Casstown pride themselves on. Or stop at the rock with a plaque and read all about Aloysius P Casstown, the explorer who found these fine regions quite accidentally: he was looking for the fountain of death!

Come. Come! Come home to Casstown!

(read or ignore? Those are my options? Awww, come on!)

Merged. I merged the threads. Didn't delete.

And it's lunch time. And pretty slow. Just waiting for a 2PM meeting.

Never heard of Kerala?
Ah. One of my dream destinations.

We'd have gone there for my honeymoon, but the scheduled flights didn't leave until later in the week, and we wanted to go away after the wedding rather than come home and kick our heels first. Venice was gorgeous of course and nothing like second best.

I want to rent a houseboat. And do a backwater tour. In Kerala I mean.
